Monica Lopera was born in Miami, but as a child her family returned to their homeland of Colombia, where she discovered her love of the theater. At age 15 she was cast in the telenovela Francisco el matemático and went on to appear in other TV series including Isabel me la Velo, Un ángel llamado azul, La ley del silencio and Vuelo 1503. She took a break from acting to move to London and study English, but couldn’t resist the lure of the screen and soon returned to acting. After this brief respite, she landed a recurring role in the French series Borgia:Faith and Fear, where she turns the renaissance into a SKINaissance by baring boobs in Episode 10.
